Alison and Dave’s Elegant Summer Wedding at Sale Town Hall & Didsbury House Hotel

Dave and Alison leave Sale Town Hall as newlyweds to be greeted by their guests

The 3rd of July 2026 brought glorious sunshine and the perfect backdrop for Alison and Dave's intimate wedding day, beginning at the beautiful Sale Town Hall before celebrating with family and friends at the elegant Didsbury House Hotel. With their closest loved ones in attendance, their wedding proved that you don't need a huge guest list to create a day filled with unforgettable moments, genuine emotion and timeless photographs.

As a Wedding Photographer based here in Sale, it's always a privilege to photograph ceremonies at Sale Town Hall. Every wedding has its own personality, and Alison and Dave's was full of thoughtful planning, quiet anticipation and plenty of heartfelt moments shared with the people who matter most.

A Surprise Worth Waiting For

One of my favourite stories from the day happened before the ceremony had even begun.

Living just a stone's throw from Sale Town Hall, Alison and Dave both made the short journey to the registry office on foot. However, with some impressive planning..and Alison hiding behind a tall plant in the town hall lobby…they had managed to avoid seeing each other despite living so close by. These impressive logistics made sure that Alison's arrival in her wedding dress was a complete surprise for Dave as she walked into the ceremony room.

Looking effortlessly elegant in a classic vintage-inspired white, Alison’s wedding dress was beautifully finished with delicate diamanté detailing around the neckline and complemented by a timeless white clutch bag. Her bouquet featured soft pinks and pale seasonal blooms, bringing just the right amount of colour to her classic bridal style.

Dave's choice of attire perfectly suited the warm summer afternoon. His pale blue double-breasted suit paired beautifully with a light purple shirt and grey tie featuring subtle floral detailing, while his buttonhole echoed the colours of Alison's bouquet to tie everything together perfectly.

Family at the Heart of the Ceremony

With guests excitedly waiting ahead of the 2.45pm ceremony, the registrar stepped forward to announce our brides arrival into the Ceremony room.

One of the lovely things about smaller weddings is how personal every role becomes. Alison was proudly walked down the aisle by her sister Sue, who was by her side throughout the day and played such an important part in making everything run smoothly. Sue would also perform the role of the couple’s official witness alongside Dave’s Best Man Alasdair.

Alasdair also had the honour of presenting the wedding rings during the ceremony, while family and friends watched on as the couple became husband and wife in one of Greater Manchester's most popular registry offices.

Following the ceremony, the newlyweds were greeted with hugs and kisses before stepping outside the iconic entrance of Sale Town Hall to a joyful confetti throw, with colourful petals filling the sunshine as their guests celebrated the moment together. These are always some of my favourite photographs to capture - natural smiles, genuine laughter and that unmistakable feeling that the celebrations have truly begun.

From Sale Town Hall to Didsbury House Hotel

While guests travelled to the reception by private coach, Alison and Dave enjoyed a few quiet moments together as they travelled in style in a luxury white Mercedes, beautifully decorated with traditional wedding ribbons.

The journey to Didsbury House Hotel offered a chance for the newlyweds to pause, reflect and enjoy those first few moments together as husband and wife before rejoining their guests for the afternoon celebrations.
