A Very Special Wedding Day at Sale Town Hall
Pauline and Mark's beautiful wedding at Sale Town Hall had everything. It was a wonderfully intimate wedding, filled with nervous excitement, genuine laughter and countless warm embraces from the moment everyone arrived, along with one very special detail that made the day even more memorable.

Some wedding days have a way of reminding you that it's the little moments that stay with you forever. They also leave me with a reminder of exactly why I love being a wedding photographer.
Pauline and Mark’s day did both of those things. After a courtship dating back to the 90’s, the anticipation surrounding the day was palpable. Pauline looked fantastic in her full-length pink dress with its elegant pleated detailing, complemented perfectly by a matching bow fascinator. Her bouquet of soft white and pale pink flowers nestled amongst lush green foliage tied everything together beautifully. Mark opted for a timeless blue suit paired with a crisp white shirt and tie, making for a classic look that suited the occasion perfectly.
It was a wedding day in which a sense of involvement really added something special. It never once felt like anyone was there simply to ‘attend’ a wedding, instead it felt more like everybody had come to be ‘part’ of a wedding day. It was very much Pauline and Mark’s day, but it also belonged to everybody who was there too.

Following an emotional entrance together, Pauline and Mark exchanged their vows inside The Ceremony Room of Trafford Registry Office. Karen (T) stepped forward and had the room in the palm of her hands during a beautiful reading, the bride and groom stealing glances throughout. Then they took to their seats to legally bind their marriage. Witnessed by Darren and Karen (M), everybody greeted the moment with huge smiles, while a few happy tears could be spotted too.

As they made their way out of the Ceremony Room, now as husband and wife, Mark and Pauline were surrounded by smiling faces, heartfelt hugs and plenty of congratulations.

Time to celebrate
Although the skies remained slightly overcast, the weather was kind to us, staying dry and giving us opportunity to head outside for a joyful confetti walk. It's always one of my favourite moments to photograph because you can really see the joy on a everyone's faces.

A special detail 75 years in the making
As all the wedding party gathered on the steps of Sale Town Hall, there was one important member of the family noticeably missing - Lottie the doggie! Although she couldn’t be there in person, she was certainly mentioned with plenty of affection throughout the day.

There were also a couple of very special guests who weren’t there for the photos but who had absolutely been there in spirit. Exactly 75 years earlier, Pauline's mum and dad had married on the very same date. Wanting them to be part of the celebrations, Pauline discreetly attached a photograph of them on their own wedding day to her bouquet. It was such a thoughtful tribute, ensuring they were right there with her as she walked into the ceremony and, in so many ways, remained part of the celebrations throughout the day.
It's details like these that remind me why I love photographing weddings so much - every celebration tells a story that's completely unique.

A quiet moment in Walkden Gardens
Whilst their guests made their way to the nearby reception venue, Mark and Pauline stopped for a stroll in Walkden Gardens, a lovely hidden gem here in Sale. Joined by Karen and James, who were the trusted chauffeurs for the event, the four shared a few stories and laughs during a quick explore of the gardens.

A heartfelt celebration
Pauline and Mark then continued their walk spending a few moments just the two of them, sharing stories of the day so far.
After our portraits, everyone gathered at Chez Nous in Sale to enjoy the rest of the afternoon. It was the perfect way to round off such a personal and meaningful wedding. I left them with my congratulations to enjoy their celebrations surrounded by the people who mean the most to them.
